Every cat counts

Zwerfkat in Leuven is a non-profit organization based in Leuven which mainly focuses on the catching, caring, and neutering of stray cats and the sheltering of kittens and domesticated adult cats. Kittens and found domesticated adult cats ( lost, dumped, abandoned) end up with foster families.

We are not a classic shelter with cages. We are always actively looking (via the chip) for the owners of the foster cats. If they are not found, the animals are put up for adoption. Wild adult cats are returned to their found location and are monitored by feeders.

The association works 100% with volunteers and is mostly dependent on gifts and donations. Everything happens after normal working hours. Our working area is limited to Leuven and its sub-boroughs.
